Weekly Theme: Olympics
So the day has finally come. Vancouver finally starts the Olympics.
I went to LiveCity Yaletown right after work to watch the opening ceremony with my friends and other crazy Canadians on huge HD screens. After the 80 minute wait and metal detectors, we got in. It was raining and everyone was cold, but it didn’t matter. When the ceremony started, everyone let out this huge roar. Simply Amazing.
I won’t get too much into the ceremony, because every Canadian basically watched it; but there were so many awesome performances/acts. Ask ten people their favorite memory and you will get 10 different answers. My top two, in no particular order were:
The swimming whales and luckiest snowboarder ever coming down through the rings.

That speech was over the top wicked.
Typical of Canada, couldn’t get a simple ceremony right.
re: usa
Can always count on USA to stay classy
Looking at that ceremony as a non-Canadian, i believe it was one of the best ones ever. Hopefully we can beat it in 2014.
